Because it's been on Dave

Because it's been on Dave Barry's blog, I'm sure everyone already knows about the woman trampled at WalMart. What get's me is WalMart's reaction:

Ellzey said Wal-Mart officials called later Friday to ask about her sister, and the store apologized and offered to put a DVD player on hold for her...."We are very disappointed this happened," Burk said. "We want her to come back as a shopper."

How nice of them! They put a DVD player on hold for her. It seems to me that if you really wanted her business later on, you'd just give her the DVD player. And maybe a new TV. It might have warded off the lawsuit that you know is coming.
