One question: The regular iPod doesn’t have a shuffle mode?!
My Creative Zen Touch does.
Ha Ha!
That is all.

Shuffle mode? Yes it does. You can shuffle by songs or by albums.
I wish iPod would fade in and out of songs. iTunes does it, but it doesn’t do it in the iPod.
Here’s what I really like about iPod: in iTunes I mark any song I want in my general playlist - the one I use for commuting, waiting around at airports, riding on trains, etc. - with 5 stars. Then I create a smart playlist which includes all tracks with 5 stars which have not yet been played. After resetting the play count, all 1,976 of my current favorites are in the smartlist, but as they’re played, they drop out of the list. The logic of the playlist also is in iPod, so even when I’m on the road for several weeks, my main playlist continues dropping out anything I’ve heard. Once the playlist gets down to a few hundred songs, I reset the play count and I’m off again.
BTW - I just bought the new 60 gig color iPod. I’ve got 58gig of stuff on it already. I like the color screen and the battery seems much better. I had some trouble with it freezing up the first week, but now its working fine.

How do you reset your ipod play count? Through iTunes? Or through settings on the iPod. I have an
old school 3rd gen iPod.

You have to use iTunes to reset the play count. Opposite mouse click on the track or series of tracks and “Reset Play Count” is one of the options.
