TiddlyWiki

Two days ago, LifeHacker led me to a site called TiddlyWiki.com. TiddlyWiki has to be one of the most efficient ways to communicate information that I’ve ever seen. And it’s easy to use (both reading and writing). And it looks really cool.

I can’t really tell you about it without showing it to you, so I’ve written a TiddlyWikiTutorial. Check it out!

Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I just logged into it again this evening and found the new style terrible! I wondered whether someone hacked into your site and changed it. I wanted to post a link to it on a national Computer Studies mailing list but I’ll wait a bit till the style is a little easier on the eyes.

Ouch. Point taken; I’ve reverted it to the standard TiddlyWiki style.

Thanks, I’ve posted the link to the National Computer Studies mailing list of South Africa.

Thanks for fixing the style (matter of taste) but can you please fix your SiteUrl? I would like to follow changes in my Feedreader…

    Keep it up!

    All-righty. SiteURL added.

  6. Quadsk8 Says:

Ah Great! thanks for the SiteUrl!

I’m having some troubles with my local TiddlyWiki it seems to loose or cut-off my Tiddlers. Started over a couple of times but it gets to be really annoying. I’m running Firefox on XP. How do you publish you TiddlyWikiTutorial? Do you prepare it locally and than simply upload the file?

    Thanks again, Lawrence of Quadsk8.nl

  7. Blog Jones Says:

Yeah, that’s what I do. If you want to update it without downloading it and reuploading it, you pretty much have to use one of the server-side variants.

    Hi Blog Jones,

I hope you don’t sue me for stealing your intelectual property or something, but I made a dutch translation of your TiddlyWikiTutorial. Your wiki ends up being mentioned on so many adaptations, that I am trying to become as famous as you… ;-)

Anyway I have done it in the QwikiWeb adaptation, which features localisation so the interface and messages are translated in Dutch as well. You will find it here:

If you have objections I can remove it, but it was made out of admiration for your work!

    Ooh! I’m famous!

Hey, no problem. Do what you like with it.

  10. Blog Jones » TiddlyWikiTutorial Updated Says:

[…] You may remember that I mentioned TiddlyWiki from a few months ago. Since that time, Jeremy Ruston has made some serious improvements to his already great web app, and I’ve updated my TiddlyWikiTutorial to discuss them. […]
