Michael Savage Does It Again
Why is Michael Savage still on the air?
As if his “You should only get AIDS and die” comment that got him fired from MSNBC wasn’t bad enough, and as if his ridiculous claims about John Kerry weren’t bad enough, now we get the following comments about the tsunami, as reported by Le Sabot Post-Moderne:
“I wouldn’t call it a tragedy. … We shouldn’t be spending a nickel on this.”
Some other quotes: “This is more a UNICEF deal, it’s a U.N. deal, it’s a Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, George Soros, Bill Clinton bleeding-heart-liberal deal. I don’t want to send them any money. . . Many of the countries and the areas in these countries that were hit . . .were hotbeds of radical Islam. Why should we be helping them destroy us? . . . I truthfully don’t believe in foreign aid.”
InstaPundit also links to Classical Values which makes the argument that Savage is an agent provocateur, a “deliberately inflammatory poseur masquerading as conservative.” I certainly wouldn’t be surprised.
I’m about to email WORD, my local radio conservative radio station to request his removal. I recommend that you do the same in your areas.

I agree with “Savage Fan”… and by the way…when was the last time this country (USA) rallied around to raise money our homeless…? What about the 4 hurricanes that slammed in FL..? Where’s the international support…? What about the west coast , aka…mudslides and floods…? America needs to take care of it’s dying and starving for a change.

I don’t even know if any radio station in my area plays him. We have Sean Hannity. By the way, I believe in God and have repented of my sins and trusted Christ as my Savior, and I oppose the Iraq War. I think our soldiers were sold a bill of goods, and I don;t want our army fighting to liberate another country. That’s called “fighting for the world order,” and I oppose it. The US Army is empowered to fight for the USA, not for the people of Iraq, though certainly, I supported their struggle. But ordering a US young person to die for the freedom of the people of another sovereign nation is not right, especially when the request is cloaked as a call to free the USA from the threat of the weapons of mass destruction. It’s precisely because I love my country that I oppose sending our young people over to Iraq.
We were attacked by Usama bin Laden, and he is still free, while we fight a regime that did NOT attack us on 9/11. The entire situation is backwards, and our president has shamed the 3,000 people who perished on 9/11. He made their lives a pretext to carry out his own agenda.

“Actually, he’s been replaced with some other guy. Sean Hannity, I think. I declare victory!”
WRONG - He is still on the air, I listen to him every day. He is a genius, the true “Paul Revere” hero on a white horse, everyone should listen to him so they know how this country really should be ran, the way it will be run, we have to be worried about America and our future, not the feelings of pinko fringe groups, no matter who you are, listen give him a chance and OPEN your mind while you listen, you will see he speaks the truth.

On my local talk radio station, he’s gone.
Regarding your other comments:

You guys can’t handle the truth that Michael speaks. You guys (libs) are slowly trying to take away everything that America stands for. My hat goes off to Michael for speaking the truth and not being worried about political correctness. I wish I could get on the air and help him expose how the libs are destroying our GREAT country.

Dude, I hope you’re kidding. You sound like you’ve joined some kind of cult.

Dr. Savage is filling a crucial role in media today as one of the few people who are brave enough to tell it like it is with no fluff or spin. For people who just want to hear insightful and intelligent discussion without a Democrat or Republican bias he is just what the Doctor ordered.
Also, he shares the views of the common man in a political environment where the power does not lie with the people.
It is my opinion that most people who bash him have a political agenda that Dr. Savage has exposed as nonsense.

Oh, is he a doctor now? Where did he get his degree?
February 25th, 2006 at 1:17 pm
Yes he has a PHD.
February 25th, 2006 at 1:31 pm
What school awarded him a doctorate?
February 25th, 2006 at 7:46 pm
I Googled the following:
Michael Savage earned a Bachelor’s from Queens College in education and sociology. He taught high school for several years in New York City. Following that, he earned two Master’s degrees in ethnobotany and anthropology from the University of Hawaii. He then received a Ph.D. in nutritional ethnomedicine in 1978 from the University of California, Berkeley. His thesis was titled Nutritional Ethnomedicine in Fiji. Savage spent many years researching botany in the South Pacific, and has a background in alternative medicine. He has stated he was a liberal at one time and never served in the military.

Ah. I tried googling for Doctor Michael Savage and I didn’t get anything.
OK. So, if I’m looking for answers about natural medicine, I’ll go to Michael Savage. When I’m looking for answers on political issues, I’m more likely to go to Slate.com or Hugh Hewitt or one of my favorite blogs.

That’s because Michael Savage is a pseudonym for Michael Alan Weiner, PhD

Blog;
“Actually, he’s been replaced with some other guy. Sean Hannity, I think. I declare victory!”
Evidently you haven’t been subjected to Sean Hannity to a sufficient degree. You shall eventually eat those words.

I really don’t know all that much about Hannity, but I’m pretty sure he isn’t a flaming homophobe. On that count alone, he is superior to Michael Savage.
